The Importance of Empathy

If we all decided to be empathetic listeners, we could change this world.
We could change our relationships for the better.
When we listen to others through empathy, we find connection and understanding.
We realize how similar our worlds and stories are.
We realize we are all human and one.
We realize that even if we have never been through the same situation as the person we are listening to, we could still understand the emotions behind the story.
We can understand the sadness, hurt, anger, loneliness, joy, love, etc.
By listening with empathy, we would show others that they are really, truly being heard.
When people feel heard, they know they are cared for and loved
That shifts the whole conversation and relationship.
It takes away fear and all that is left is love.
Empathy is a learned trait, we all have the ability to be more empathetic.
Start today to be more empathetic and we can change the world one conversation at a time.
